Flawless logic.
Jul. 17th, 2020 08:08 pmToday I learned the New York City Department of Sanitation has an airplane. Not a big one, but it's theirs, and they keep it out at Floyd Bennett field, the same place they train people to drive trucks.
At first I wondered, why does the Department of Sanitation have an airplane? Was it part of a program for something that never materialized? Is it a relic of another era? The person who told me about it said it was a historic piece because President Truman flew it once, something like that.
Then it hit me. Clearly, obviously, perfectly. Why would the Department of Sanitation have an airplane?
Because someone must have thrown out the plane.
Clearly! It'd been sitting there, waiting for curbside pickup, and rather than destroy it, they claimed it for themselves. A time honored NYC tradition.
What better explanation?
