I got three ascents and three descents today, in part with taking brief breaks halfway up on the second and third, and stopping for a little while every time I got to the roof. Still. A marked improvement from yesterday.

Two local independent grocery stores are nearly completely sold out of flour and frozen vegetables - a couple bags of bread flour hid near the back of the shelf, and, rather memorably, some okra had stuck around. I'm not in need of anything yet, and I'm going to keep looking around to see what does and doesn't go quickly. Supply chains haven't yet been broken, so this is mostly seeing a big, sudden shift in purchasing habits, and noticing that while the stock of eggs was noticeably depleted, the laundry detergent seemed fine.

I would've liked to take some whole wheat flour back with me, but with none to be found, I'll keep checking around the neighborhood tomorrow. And the day after that, until I find what I'm looking for.

Apropos of my looking around for something specific, and seeing someone else love something which doesn't even leave me cold, just bored, I find myself wanting to ask for or even commission a fic rec list tailored to my tastes. Because God knows looking for those stories myself is a struggle, some days.
