In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.
Every year, I know this one comes, and every year I still get stumped. So, adhering to the "wish" part of "wishlist" -
1. Transformative works based on my own stories. Fanart, cover art, banners, remixes, icons, commentary - I'd love to see what people come up with. It's all good.
2. Fic recs for stories with disabled characters that aren't disability fic. My go-to example is Everything About It Is A Love Song, where Charles Xavier's disability is a significant factor in his everyday life and the story is him learning to share his life with Erik. I've done a fair bit of this, but I'd always love to read more. (Josh Lyman/Joey Lucas, anyone?)
3. An icon of Steve Rogers - maybe in Times Square at the end of The First Avenger, maybe a shot of him staring up at the sky in full uniform, maybe just Steve - with the words "nobody lives to see the future."
Because, really, Steve and Bucky are the only people who've lived to see the future.
4. Comments on my fics. Because everyone wants that, and I'm no exception.
5. More fandom meetups. Not for me - I've got the NYC Fanbrunch already - but I wish to hear that other people in other cities are doing it, too. I know DC and Boston do them, and I've heard that Dallas has begun one, too. And I'd still like to hear about more, even if it's just three people in a Starbucks. Conventions are lovely and joyful, but we can't have them every month. A small-scale get-together in a restaurant or someone's backyard is much more achievable on a regular basis. Fans are social creatures, and we need to maintain contact with each other.
