Rosy-minded fuzz.
May. 20th, 2018 11:05 pmI got some good laughs tonight.
For initial context, I went to a sort of artist's showcase/installation/open house tonight in someone's apartment, which started out with a lot of mingling, some joking around and making conversation about stuff like old newspaper headlines and arrondissements and creative pursuits, and ended with some speakers presenting their works and original compositions. For additional context, my remarks were all said aloud in a polite, cheerful, and conversational tone, loud enough for the entire room to hear me clearly.
At the start of the presentations, the host wanted to introduce her father and asked if anyone knew where he was.
I said, "He's dead."
She nearly choked on her donut and needed a few moments to stop laughing.
Another speaker described his experiences with a girlfriend, saying that he thought it was okay for her to be too friendly with him but not really with everyone else, and posited the rhetorical question that everyone in the room knew what that was like, right?
I said, "No."
And the entire room gave it up.
