In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I'm always proudest of the most recent fic I've written, but there's a few older ones I think back on with a good deal of fondness and pride.

1. Woven From Your Brown Hair, Deep Space Nine - A fic about daily life as a Federation civilian, raising a disabled child, and coming to peace with family legacies and heritage. I'm still astonished it's gotten as much positive attention and reception as it has.

2. Stubborn Mouths: Humans In Translation, Deep Space Nine - The fic it took fandom almost two decades to write. When I first watched the show, it felt like I was peering around a corner when I watched Bashir, and could just make out he was autistic - so with this fic, I did what I could to look at him straight-on.

3. Put On Your Face, Team Fortress 2 - The first chapter in the as-yet-incomplete Dog Days Are Over series, and in some ways the part of it I'm most proud of having written. Taking a stance on what exactly was beneath Pyro's mask meant I'd never align with Valve's canon, and I made my peace with that well before I wrote a single word.

4. Children of the Wanderers (Rock of Ages translation), Supernatural - Remixing the entire canon to turn it on its head and shift it from depicting the end of the world as a terrible thing to the end of the world being something to work towards. Sometimes I think about how I'd have tackled season five if I'd had another couple of weeks to write, with the Messianic era coming to pass, but then I think about how I finished the rough draft the first night of Pesach, and my hand to God I'm not making that up, I know it sounds too perfect to be true but that's how it happened, and I'm glad it didn't happen any other way.

5. The Anatomy of Sound (The Radio Free Europe remix), House - I went with remixing the spirit of the story, not the narrative, and had a great time doing so - and having been to Small World, I can personally vouch that it's a very nice place to go for a comforting latte.
