Something went wrong with my mouth, and I need some dental/orthodontic work done, and soon - a wire came loose, and it's not life-threatening or anything more than annoying, but if I don't want it to get worse, and what with just how much it's bothering me, I'd rather get it dealt with as soon as is possible. Rarely am I in a position to be glad I'm unemployed, which just compounds the annoyance.

Anyone got something charming or distracting to share, I'm all for it. Fic recs, too. It's that or The Sims, and I have too much stuff to do to just turn off reality.

Positive update.

Calling every hour, pretty much at the hour, got me an appointment tomorrow for two o'clock. I'd have preferred today, but the dentist himself is in Florida and won't be back until tomorrow. I can manage - I've waited longer for less.
