For the first half of therapy, we didn't talk abut anything of substance - how to cold-brew coffee, her office's plants, why so many dog breeds make for terrible pets.

The second half was just me talking about my ideas and worries regarding the ongoing job hunt and employment. Some of the old stuff, with whether or not I'd be able to hold down a full-time job and still have hours in the day for cooking and exercise and writing and what not, how hard it is to open up a dialogue about employment when the main goal of primary employment is to support a creative career. Oddly enough, I'm not worrying so much about whether or not I might eventually find work or not. Having a part-time position - even a volunteer gig - helps a lot with that. It reminds me that my time is a valued enough commodity to be worth some investment.

We also talked a little bit about employment in another field, even for a temporary thing. It's a pretty realistic fantasy to work in a cheese shop for a couple of days a week, as fantasies go, and one worth looking into.
