Today's dinner wasn't a total and complete loss: in my failure to slice and roast potatoes correctly for the base layer of a frittata, I learned I can make potato chips in my oven. Just like how they used to do it at Saratoga Springs.

It's not something I'll do again anytime soon - maybe if there's a party and I want to save the host from buying something with ingredients no one can pronounce. As it is, dinner didn't do nearly enough to satisfy me, either nutritionally or emotionally. The only solution was ice cream and vowing to try again tomorrow.
