Lights shine.

For some reason, last Thanksgiving was so unmemorable nobody in my family remembers where we were when it happened. It came up in conversation, and I said I'd go check my Livejournal. While I didn't post anything on that day, from the other entries that week I figured that since my parents had just moved into their new apartment and we hadn't left the city, we had it at their place. Then I checked an e-mail conversation from that date and confirmed my suspicions.

This year was a lot more interesting, mostly because one of my father's old classmates came over and she and I spent most of the meal talking to each other, and when the rest of the family moved to play charades, she and I went to another room to keep on talking about whatever struck our fancy.

I am, as always, thankful for the people I meet that make the species into something special. Face-to-face or online, it doesn't matter - the people I know I can share with, rely on, the people I can be there to support when they need it, the ones who I listen to and who listen to me, the ones that make me wish I could zap myself somewhere and scrub their toilets or cook them dinner or watch silly movies with them, the people that matter to me, those are the things for which I'm thankful.
