A matter of time.
Jul. 24th, 2011 09:09 pmAfter a couple of weeks of back-and-forth rescheduling, last Friday I finally got the chance to talk to a working librarian about rewriting and reformatting my cover letters. For the most part, career handbooks and on-campus offices aren't geared towards libraries or social arts jobs, so this was the first time I heard quite a few pieces of advice that I'll have to follow from now on - I joked he could write a book on this stuff and hit the niche market hard enough for a summer house, but only partially. I've got several pages of very clear notes and the desire to work on them, but at the same time, I just don't feel like it.
Then again, I've done all my laundry, did a bit of grocery shopping, went to the gym and lifted heavy after a few days of doing nothing, and cooked enough soup for my own dinner, three more meals, and a cup for someone else who wandered into the kitchen and wanted some. So it's not like I've been lazing all day. I think I just need to rationalize putting editing the letters off until tomorrow evening, when I won't be trying to get myself into bed before midnight to get a little more rest for dealing with Ellis' summer tourists.
Time to send some e-mails, then.
