It's a new moon tonight. Because of the timing of the phases, there's going to be another one on the thirtieth. There isn't a common term for this, but a quick Google search turned up a few good ones: black moon, dark moon, finder's moon, secret moon, spinner's moon. I think I like "dark moon" the best.

And speaking of heavenly bodies, why not give this a go?

I finally finished the picspam of Pride 2011 from this Sunday - it's not the day after I said I'd finish, which is an object lesson in flexible due dates for this sort of thing. At any rate, the photos are up, so there's more flags, more posters, more floats, and one very impressive pole dancer. Go ahead and give them a look.

Also, if anyone's interested, Florence + The Machine has a gorgeous, rollicking, very full sound, and is well worth trying out, so to help with that, here's a few of her songs to try on for size.
