Deep shade.

There's a special irritation in spending hours working on a cover letter and finding the job in question doesn't need one for its application. Still, it's another application sent out, and I've got hopes for this one - I meet all the required qualifications, and have most of the desirable ones too, plus it's in an area I've worked in and liked. So there's quite a bit of hope that this one works out, at least to the interview stage. I'd just liked to have argued my case this time around.

And there's nothing like having a couple dozen other cover letters to work on to bring reality and pragmatism back into play. I'll let the hope and frustrations balance each other out and see about what I can do with my time tomorrow.
