Rapid update.
Sep. 17th, 2010 05:35 pmI didn't know there was a near-tornado in the city until today, when I checked for news about the storm yesterday. All I knew was that it started to get overcast when I got back to the room, lightning and thunder stopped me from going back out, and the worst of the rain started to come down right when I poured a cup of tea. At the time, I thought it'd be impossible to buy that kind of timing - now I'm left wondering if that was when the tornado touched down, which I suppose allows for teacup-tornado wordplay. Apparently this is the first time this sort of storm's come for over a century, which itself leads me to think I do take the weather with me: two terrible winters in Pittsburgh and one horrible tornado in Brooklyn.
Having worked my way through the second season of Eureka with plans to catch up on the rest of it soon, I'm reminded how pleasant and charming it is, and how nice it is to be able to use those adjectives appropriately. It's also reminding me how small the fandom is, and I still can't figure out any good reason for that. Streaming through the last half of the second season left me wishing for all sorts of crossover fic or gen shenanigans, although knowing me I'll probably end the third season writing some Vincent/OMC. Because that's how I roll.
