Aug. 25th, 2010 11:18 pmMy tiny itty-bitty fridge has arrived! And of course the first thing that went inside was a Diet Coke.
It really is itty-bitty: when I got back to the room and found it in here, I realized it was small enough to fit in my closet along with the clothes, the laundry basket, plus my suitcase. It's just big enough for the groceries I have now, plus leftovers, but it's not going to be big enough for most of my groceries - that is, lots and lots of produce. I guess eggplant is a pretty safe thing to store in the main kitchen fridge, at least compared to good eggs and fresh milk.
Today also included a good volunteer session. Since I was the only one in the office, I turned off the radio, left the fan on for ambient noise, and got through several sets of photos that needed scanning. In a sense, this job just involves being a warm body and isn't what I spent two years training to do, but in another, given what I saw other people doing for organization, it's probably for the best I'm coming over, even if it's just twice a week.
