Lost and found.

For about twenty minutes, I thought I'd lost a ring. I was fiddling with my hands, and when I reached down to where my left thumb's ring usually is, it wasn't there. I spent five minutes checking around my computer, a few more in the shopping bags I'd used today, and then sighed and assumed it was lost somewhere in New York City. Maybe on the subway, maybe at Starbucks, there was no way to know. I put on another one - I wasn't about to go ringless - and resolved to keep on with my day as best I could.

A few minutes after that, I sat down, bent over, and stood up - and the missing ring hit the floor.

I think it was hiding in my hair! Which doesn't surprise me in the least. At this point I could probably hide a small rodent in there without any fuss or struggling on either of our parts.
