Ephemerality.
I'm back from moon viewing. I'd still be up on the roof, and I might head up again in a little while, but the clouds that came up over the horizon looked like they were gathering sufficiently to stick around for quite some time.
Then again, it's just four flights of stairs.
Though to counter that, there won't be a small, congenial group of people on the roof to chat with about what we're all seeing, and fumble our way through half-remembered science lessons about simultaneous celestial rotations and the differences between eclipses and new moons, chat about much we all like the building we're in, and enjoy a very casual, urban sort of congregation where we might or might not see each other again but know to enjoy the company in the moment for what it is.
Both things were beautiful, while they lasted.
