Saturday note-taking.
The pumpkin that I got on Halloween that might or might not have come from Orlando Jones lasted just over seven months, October 31 to June 6. I tossed it out today when I noticed some mold growing on its base. But other than that, it was still firm, brightly colored, and provided a bit of cheer whenever I looked at it. And seven months for a decorative gourd is a pretty good track record. Still, it was time for it to go. It's been replaced by some fresh sage I got at the farmer's market today, put into water to use fresh later.
Today I also spent most of the afternoon with
d_generate_girl, enjoying the June weather as we walked and talked our way through coffee shops and craft fairs in the West Village - Doctor Who, overseas travel, information networking and dissemination in overlapping social circles with common nodes, Mad Men theories and crossover ideas. I've never been in a position to know so many people locally before, and I know how lucky it makes me. It's something I'll have to keep pursuing, especially since in addition to fresh sage, I also got a thirty-two ounce bottle of blueberry cider that deserves to be opened for a party.
