Just one more thing.
Yesterday I met with
thisismousefacefor Australian coffee. And it was good.
Then I met
swankyfunk for the Midsummer Night Market. And it was very good, with made-to-order cream sodas and peach/tomato gazpacho, little lemon cakes decked out in blueberries and mascarpone, a gorgeous grain salad that also came with quoting The Big Lebowski - I'd signed us up for coupons to get a dollar off each dish we ordered from the vendors, and when I presented it for the cake, the guy taking the money said, "Mark it zero."
"This isn't Nam. There are rules," I replied.
And that was just splendid.
Of course, the really splendid part was hanging out with two of my friends whom I don't see much - one because she lives in LA, and the other because I'm horrible at being proactive about meeting people. So I'm going to try to combat that tendency in the future. Starting now.
I know people out there that read this are within adjacent ZIP codes. Does anyone want to meet for coffee and conversation in an apartment, to minimize spending, and possibly cake? I do a mean chocolate cake.

(I am just so shy, which is why I have never been like "hi I am from NYC!" I go to the University at Albany so I am rarely there but I still have my family.)
