May as well be just coincidence.
Last week, after I finally recovered from whatever bug incapacitated me for a week, I told my brothers that I ought to get an extra week of vacation to make up for the one I'd lost.
It turns out the universe works in strange and mysterious ways, such as my coming in to work today to find I wasn't actually needed and don't have to show up again until next Wednesday. Not only did my boss just get back herself, but the whole office is in the midst of renovations, leaving almost everyone cramped together - except for my old supervisor, who has her own tiny office - and the whole place smelling like a dorm right after summer vacation, resplendent with the aroma of freshly painted walls. What's more, when I get back, there's a few very specific things waiting for me when I get there, and I can move on from there.
My new plans include staying up late to get writing done, finishing a couple more books, and maybe, just maybe, buying a new pair of shoes for next week.
