Already I'm missing staying up late.
My brothers and I rang in the new year with Galaxy Quest, ice cream, and Tim Tams. This morning, I used the last of the biscuits in breakfast Tim Tam slams, and this afternoon, spent more money than I probably needed to on books. Not a bad way to start the year - perhaps not so productive, but given that this is the last day of vacation and I made a very nice lentil stew with quite a bit left over for dinner tomorrow, I can live with that. Provided I start gathering momentum in the relevant areas tomorrow.
It's been a relaxing, calm day, and it'll be over earlier than usual, since I'm heading back to work tomorrow. As much as I'm looking forward to the work itself, the tasks for which I've been hired, I'm not anticipating my returning interactions with most of my co-workers with any amount of good cheer. I'll have to armor up for some of what I know is coming, gird my loins - and just show up and hope for the best.
