Life update.
Just-under-the-wire heads-up: Adagio is hosting a promotion that ends Tuesday noon EST. Basically, find cherry blossoms, get a discount. And because this is the internet, let people help you find them. Basically, shut up and let Adagio take your money.
Pesach looms, which means plenty of baking to get rid of the last of the flour. Last night I made rosemary-raisin bread for my dad's book group, and tomorrow I'm going to tackle Irish soda bread. I've also got some cooked wheatberries that need to be dealt with; my plans for those involve pairing it with yogurt and tinned sardines so I can play at being Scandinavian for at least one lunch this week.
I've settled into a weekly routine of sorts, with Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and sometimes Wednesdays being devoted to chores and cooking and the job hunt, and Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with the occasional Wednesday, going towards writing projects. It seems to be working fairly well for the few weeks I've been following these guidelines. I'd like to be writing more, but I know that'll always be the case, so I just try to hit the daily wordcount before bed and do what I can on cover letters before wanting to crawl into a hole. As a fairly decent side-effect of all the job work, I've been going to the gym more, since nothing helps me recover from blocked humours faster than physical movement. Which reminds me - now that the weather's gotten nice, I need to get my hands on some roller skates. It's one of the few forms of cardiovascular exercise I enjoy, and remember, the number one rule of the zombie apocalypse is cardio.
At the moment, French lessons are doubtful in both the near and later future, but I can at least get a pair of roller skates and head out into the springtime weather.
