By the hours.
It'll be my birthday in about an hour and a half. Less, going by Daylight Saving Time. I like to go to bed before midnight the night before, and just wake up having finished another year around the sun, though that might not quite happen this year - I went ahead with my plan to bake some quick-rising bread for my brother to take back to school with him tomorrow, and it'll be out of the oven in not too long. And then there's showering, and my usual issue of needing at least twenty minutes of lying there to get anywhere close to the neighborhood of thinking about falling to sleep. That part's never been easy for me.
Mostly I'm looking forward to doing errands and skipping job work to write instead. My parents have offered to take me out to dinner and I think I'll pass on it for another day, so I can cook this recipe with some chicken that's been thawing in the fridge. As fantastic as it'd be to go out for sushi, today was a hugely social day with two big art shows across town and a lot of navigating through crowds, and I don't know how much I'd enjoy a lot of intense out-of-the-apartment social time after all of that.
What I'd really enjoy is a TV Tropes page for this series I'm writing, though that's more fantasy than much of anything else. I'll see about making myself happy with deadlifts and cooking instead - those I know to work for that, and to look forward to them as well.
