À midi ou à minuit.

I think I know what I want for my birthday.

I want French lessons.

There are at least two opportunities near me, both in terms of distance and time, and they seem reasonably priced for what they are. The last time I took language lessons in any capacity it was my freshman year of college and then only to finish the requirements so I could take other classes. And it wasn't really something I wanted to be doing. This time around, this is something I'd like to learn, and I'd want to be there. With an undertaking like this, even at the very beginner's level, one really has to want to be there to benefit. Not to mention that it'd help me professionally, and at much less cost than getting yet another degree, which some people seem to be doing. I'd rather pick up a language.

Hebrew lessons would be fun, too. In addition or as another option.

I saw the classes at Idlewild Books a year ago and I was soooo tempted to take beginner's Italian. Am tempted yet again. The price does seem very reasonable for something very useful!

Fabulous, hope you enjoy! I studied French for 5 years at school, you didn't really get the choice not to (most schools now offer either German or Spanish as a minimum alternative), but I enjoyed it, I even went on a trip to Paris with the school's French Department when I was 14 which was awesome.

I'd like to learn Russian, but nowhere near me - not even the Open University - teaches it :(
