Fuck you, frame shop: I asked for a special mat cut to three-by-five inches, not three-and-a-half by four-and-three-quarters.

Add this to how I need a second pair of hooks drilled into the walls to hang the large pieces, which finally got to me as they should be only today, and I'm not holding out hope for art on my walls before February.

If you have the paperwork on the order, return it and request that they cut you a new one to your actual specs. Chances are, on such a small job, they'll do it on the spot.

If they won't ... screw 'em. Call a few other local shops and ask about lead time to cut something that tiny. Chances are, one of them will cheerfully tell you it'll just be a day or two.

The receipts don't specify the specs. I'll just have to go back in with the item itself and ask again. They're getting to know me at this place by now.
