Self-assigned.

I rang in the New Year by washing my sheets and scrubbing the toilet. Not very glamorous, but Getting Stuff Done is always a good way to start things off.

And in that vein, Day One of the Snowflake Challenge: In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Drop a link to your post in the comments.

I picked three fics of which I'm actually really proud, for one reason or another, and that I wish more people knew about. Consider this me shoving them at you and demanding, "READ THIS. PLEASE. I WORKED HARD ON THEM."

1. Ollie Ollie, In Come Free, House MD, and I know nobody likes original character fanfic but I had a hell of a time writing it, and it's my hope there's someone else out there who finds pleasure in metaphor.

2. Children of the Wanderers (Rock of Ages translation), Supernatural, and there weren't a whole lot of things I had to change about the canon to get Jewish Winchesters when it mostly involved one big change of shifting the driving force of the show's mythology from "maintain the status quo" to "work towards something better."

3. Put On Your Face, Team Fortress 2, and I could write reams about what this fandom has done for me, but instead I asked myself what I could do for this fandom, and did my best to top everything else I've ever done.

All three in single-page convenient formats, and if anyone wants me to upload them to AOOO for downloading, just let me know.

And come on, you need maybe thirty minutes to catch up on all the canon for Team Fortress 2 with the comics and videos - forty, if your internet's lagging. Start with the videos. Although I do have to say, it's very freeing to be in a fandom where the canon isn't always something I can trust. It gives me the opportunity to make up my own, so long as I stick to it.
