Griping as catharsis.

It may be a fine and shining example of meritocracy at work, but I still hate it when I have to fill out online profiles for jobs. And it's always the exact same data, every single time, over and over. It's tediousness embodied, and I'd much rather write a cover letter than deal with all the little boxes and dates.

And if I don't specifically set out to do just that, with the proper mentality and hot beverage, it doesn't take long for me to get restless enough to throw my hands up and wander off to find something else to do.

I'll use the gym to clean out my system, get back to cover letters later, and work on those profiles tomorrow.

I hate those, too. They break my flow and if anything they even discourage me from applying. Have you ever gotten ones that ask for your social security number? You're never obliged to give it to them and it's never necessary for a potential employer to ask for it.

At least once, I'm sure of it.

They always want to know who I worked for, how long, when, why I left, the street address - I know why it's important, but I hate it so much.

Ugh, all the sympathy ever for this. I hate hate hate that whole part of the employment process. It takes forever and never seems to mean a damn thing.

It's in my CV! Why wouldn't it be in my CV? Are they just admitting they don't read the damn things?
