I've got less than a fortnight until I leave. My official date's the fifteenth, but if it goes well, I'll be out on the twelfth. As much as I hate packing, all I can say is: bring it. I'll miss the sunsets, and I'll get my own bathroom and kitchen. Even if I have to fill out a lot of paperwork to get there.
I'm not sure how unethical it'd be to take a few of the things from the kitchen that are technically communal. Given that they were almost thrown out, it seems likely they'll be disposed of by the staff at some point - which itself is mostly a rationalization to justify taking things from a place that's taken things from me. I still haven't replaced my soup pot or teakettle. I'll have to dig around the city for replacements - I want them back, but if I don't have to move them twice, I'll be that much happier.
As happy as I am to leave, it's making it weird and difficult to concentrate on much of anything. Hopefully talking about it will help mitigate that somewhat.
