Briefly noted.

I hit 200 pounds on the deadlift today. Right on. My form wasn't as good as I'd have liked, but I got that bar off the floor and meant it. I've been working to hit 200 for years, and next up I'll see what I can do to hit 225. Then double my body weight. One of the best things about weight training that nobody seems to talk about - there's no upper limit. You just keep going and getting stronger and stronger.

I also took a short walk through Central Park today. Nothing big, just two miles to enjoy the greenery. I spotted a pair of red-tailed hawks at the south end, a few turtles here and there, a random Shakespeare production, a busker drawing out giant soap bubbles, and a bunch of wedding photo sessions. Nothing terrifically extraordinary about it. Just people out, enjoying themselves, going on with their lives.

In a world like this, it's sometimes the best thing anyone can do.
