Tuesday night late posting.

The results of my experiment were a success: working outside the room in the local branch library produced effective results in the area of job-related work. It's closed on Sundays and I won't be going in tomorrow, but now that I have a space for working, writing cover letters with the proper amount of 'jump' should be easier.

For context, when I heard Salman Rushdie speak at ALA, he said he got the best critical feedback ever from his son: after Rushdie gave him the first early chapters of a book he'd written, his son said it was good, but needed more 'jump'. Rushdie said it was the best advice because he knew exactly what was meant by that.

So because of getting out of the room today, I was able to polish up and send in an application for a job in Arizona. I doubt I'll get so far in the consideration list as to get a polite decline letter from the organization, but for the rest of the week, I can fantasize about leaving the city for a place with much less humidity.

Incidentally, has anyone else seen Moon? I watched it tonight, and man, it's been a while since I cried at a movie. It's a really beautiful piece of work, and Sam Rockwell needs to do more stuff like that - he carried the whole thing, and he did it with class.

Moon was directed and written by Duncan Jones (David Bowie's son). Guess talent does run in the family! Although I agree that a lot of the credit goes to Sam Rockwell who did such an amazing job.
