It's come to my attention that, the way my semester, my field placement, and my part-time job are going, I'll be done with everything school-related by the end of the month. Everything. No, I'm not doing a victory jig about this; I don't see much reason to, at least not tonight.

What I do see reason to do a victory jig over is that I'll have a tiny window of free time between the end of school and the beginning of living in New York. This time will be spent packing, enjoying a bit more of Pittsburgh, and - if it all goes well - travel. I mean, I'll be packing up everything and I'm going to be leaving the house anyway, so why not see if I can get some cheap plane flights to Texas and California?

I know this is making a huge assumption anyone who'd be willing to have me as a houseguest is reading this post, so I'll probably either make another post later or send out a mass e-mail. In the meantime, I'll try to not talk myself out of being hopeful.

Hija_Paloma? She has a Dane and two hairless chihuahuas that are hilarious. And lives in Austin.

I still don't know who that is. I think I've seen her name come up in a couple of places, but I can't remember if I've ever talked to her.

Why would I be interested in a Dane and chihuahuas? I don't much care for dogs.

Ok well I wasn't sure if you knew her on not (she's been on my LJ for YEARS, and she seems to know everyone).

She's in Austin: the fact she has dogs is completely incidental.

Nope, don't know her. I've seen her around on other journals, but I've never talked to her - I think there might have been a few interactions, but I can't remember anything pleasant.

But if it's incidental, why did you bring it up? I mean, if it doesn't matter...

I do know someone in Austin I'd love to see, but I don't know if she thinks of me as a friend anymore.
