The way it goes.
Say what you will about the profession, but librarians really know how to have fun. Case in point. Now sing along - "Da-na-na-na-na-na-na-na, BATMAN! BATMAN! BATMAN!" Book cart drill teams: the new big thing.
There was also a random lecture on herbs today at the library where I do my field placement, so when I went into the staff lounge for lunch it was full of people holding a raffle for various little plants - basil, cilantro, rosemary, some parsley varieties - and a small buffet of tasty Indian food, herb dips, and some baked goods left over from a party last night that, according to my supervisor, involved at least one very long-winded rabbi. As they tend to be. As it was, at lunch everything was delicious, and they even had miniature red velvet cupcakes that were about half the size of a hard-boiled egg.
Also, I got to work with the collection itself again, organizing and sorting the files in the four big boxes. It wasn't the sort of heavy lifting that produces a sweat, but oddly enough the sort of thing I do a lot: I sat down and wondered, "What makes sense here?" It wasn't a case of filling up the boxes until they were full - I had to put things together in an order that fit with what I had and in a way that someone who hadn't done the sorting could understand. It's really tricky, and not just because it's much more of an effort for me to make that sort of jump. Really rewarding, though, when I explained how I thought it should go to my supervisor and she said it'd likely work and I should go with that plan. It was somewhere between finding patterns and making them myself.

I have always admired the thoughtful order that goes into organizing materials in a library. Most of the books are now re-shelved at our library by people working off their community service as part of sentencing for minor crimes. Often they can barely read and put things in the wrong place. When there's time, I visit and take care of my favorite authors and put all their books in order.
