Span the length.
About the only reason I left the downtown ceramic crawl when I did was that my feet were starting to hurt. I'm going to have to go back for more tomorrow.
This weekend isn't just a 'ceramic thing' with a couple of art galleries hosting local pieces: this weekend is a major ceramics event with close to thirty different locations, all of them showcasing the work of different schools, from Consumnes River College to Santa Rosa Junior College to Oregon College of Arts & Crafts to a local junior high. It's very, very hit-or-miss with something this big, but when at least one gallery gave out chocolate I'm not going to complain, just lace up my shoes and hit the town again tomorrow. I think the best part is that I didn't know it was coming, or that it'd ever happened to begin with - I just arrived and there it was. Pretty nice. I can't get everything tomorrow, but at least I can go back and get a couple more photos in.
I've been in and out of the house all day today. First the farmers market for blueberries, then to the Co-Op for baking supplies, then back to the market for dinner stuff, then the downtown crawl and a bike ride to the north ponds, then another brief Co-Op run to get milk for breakfast tomorrow. In between all this I got way too much sun, browsed the free comic books at the local shop and laughed at the vintage nineties art, said hello to a man and woman dressed as the Cheshire Cat and Queen of Hearts biking back from a costume party, saw a gorgeous red-shouldered hawk and plenty of fuzzy goslings, and generally had a nice time of the day. Except for the fact that my toes still hurt, just a little bit.
Worth it, though.
