Commas and ampersands!

It's snowing. Really, deeply snowing. It started just after I left the gym a little before noon, tiny specks, and by the time I'd walked two blocks to the house it was unmistakably coming down, and now it's big, fluffy flakes that are collecting on everything and I've got all three window blinds pulled up high and I'm grinning like a loon. And I know everyone said a storm was coming and I know NOAA said there was a hundred-percent chance of snow, and it's still amazing.

Last night I managed to get to Panera after class with someone from a group project, and we spent a good chunk of time eating sandwiches and talking about television. She's a fan of a lot of the same stuff that I watch, and we had some good conversation. We're meeting again tomorrow to go downtown for some research for the project itself, but there's likely to be more good talking then, too.

And I just finished the rough draft of my [livejournal.com profile] house_bigbang story, at a smidge over 35,000 words. Once I pick out a section for the summary, I'll send it to the moderators. As they say in cowboy movies, "Yeeha."

In fact, double yeeha.

Congrats on Big Bang! If I make it this year, it will be at the last minute and frighteningly close to 20,000 words (my goal is to have a rough draft by February 13, so that I've got a buffer zone to fix anything ridiculous. I have 350 more words to write today to stay on target!).

I wish it would snow here - we had the warmest January in memory, which is great for walking to work, but not so great for that big sporting event that starts next week...

Around the last week of January, I realized my wordcount matched up to the day of the month, which was just weird enough to get me through several thousand words - I didn't want to fall behind on the twenty-seventh. I'm sure you'll make it without too much trouble.

Incidentally, the classmate I'm going on the trip with tomorrow is a member of a local curling league.

I haven't curled in ages - we had some staff outings around the time of the Nagano Olympics, which were a blast. I'm a big fan of sporting events where flasks are an accessory.

Snowing here too, though not as heavily as it was earlier. And I'm glad, because I have to drive in it.

Getting ready to head out. I am very happy for your snow. :-)

I'm aware one of the reasons I love snow so much is that I don't have to worry about driving in it, which really helps.
