Gig deals.

Among the charming surprises at my Brooklyn gig, an old paperback collection of Fran Lebowitz writings is high up there. It's yellowed with age, fits nicely into pockets, and smells exactly as it should. There's pride to be taken in getting things cleaned out and tidied up, and there's pleasure to be had in bringing home a book like that. Both to have it around and to read and enjoy it.

I also found a cache of vintage Archie comics - 1960s and 1970s, mostly. I don't want them and my client doesn't want them, and I'm sure there's someone out there who'd be happy to trade money for them. There's likely a comic book store who'd be happy to play the middle man, so I'm going to have to go through them, check the exact issue numbers and general quality, and then see to the business of getting them to a good home.

oh, what a treasure! I fell *hard* for Fran Lebowitz in the late 70s/early 80s (cannot remember just when I found her) and read & reread her essays. enjoy the wonderful glimpse at an idiosyncratic writer, and a time/place long gone.
