Doctor Bashir. Jules. Julian Subatoi Bashir. My dear doctor.
He's a twerp. He's a dweeb. At times, he manages to be a badass dweeb. He suffered somewhat from comphet in the final season of the show, but let's be real, who hasn't?
He's someone who genuinely, sincerely, wholeheartedly wants to help people. To be useful. He puts in the effort to be nice. He doesn't fuck around when it comes to delivering medical care. He graduated second in his class at Starfleet Medical, on purpose. He's an excellent liar when he wants to be. He's excitable, eager to make friends, and doesn't always know how to follow a conversation. He'll talk for ages about a single topic regardless of whether the person he's talking to is interested. More than one person called him an infuriating pest, with one of them complimenting him by saying they didn't hate him anymore. He still has his childhood teddy bear. He keeps flirting with a lizard spy and two different alternate universe versions of themselves got married in a third unrelated reality, because that's Star Trek for you.
He's a very bad rat.
He's my favorite, and I love him.
