Professionalism.
I've got another gig! Part-time, short-term, and it's still a gig! It helps that I've got a good hourly rate going.
A family friend's mother moved apartments not too long ago, going down by several rooms and a handful of closets, and while she did okay with getting rid of stuff, her papers are another story. She needs someone to help her deal with some tax work in the short term, and hopefully in the slightly longer term, someone to help her deal with the rest of it.
I went over yesterday and we did a few hours of basic sorting, and I was ruthless about making sure that we put everything not directly relevant to the last few years of taxes aside - not to throw away, simply to deal with in February or March. We agreed she could make that call after we're done with the task set down by her accountant. I helped her sort the relevant documents by year, then by topic, and then I helped her troubleshoot her printer as well as figure out how to make the font size bigger on her laptop.
It feels good to be useful.
It feels great to get paid to do that.
