1. Three-hour epics featuring Tom Cruise that examine the fragility and endurance of human relationships which came out in 1999: Eyes Wide Shut, Magnolia
2. Stylish Russell Crowe action-dramas featuring a secondary protagonist with which he has fantastic chemistry that should have had at least two sequels: Master and Commander, The Nice Guys
3. "Fuck rich people and their fancy houses" movies that came out in 2019: Knives Out, Parasite, Ready or Not
4. A dude walks around for an hour or two trying to find some guy: Chan is Missing, Inherent Vice, The Long Goodbye, The Third Man
5. Coming of age movies featuring Beanie Feldstein which highlight an Alanis Morissette song: Booksmart, Lady Bird
As a bonus, a short list of movies in which a highly respected auteur filmmaker processed their own real-life divorce by depicting Scarlett Johansson in a deteriorating relationship with a man who is a content creator of some kind and a much longer list of movies where a character is involved in an incident which briefly impairs their hearing and leads to us hearing EEEEEEEEEEEEE for a few seconds to symbolise this.
