Fading east.
Challenge #3
Create a wish list of fandom things (podfic, graphics, playlists, canon recs translations, research help, vids, sky's the limit!) that you'd like to receive. Post your answer to today’s challenge in your own space and leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
1. For years, I've put "post-canon Buffy the Vampire Slayer fic based on the "gird your loins" scene from The Devil Wears Prada" on this wishlist - something where it's Buffy as Miranda, commanding that level of respect and control over the situation as a defense mechanism against everyone wanting something from her - because nobody's written it yet, so I'm still wishing for it. If someone did write it and I missed it, please let me know so I can finally read it.
2. I've similarly dreamed about vids of Gotham - the city, not the show, because Gotham the city is a character unto itself across all the assorted Batman properties and incarnations - to one of the Kevin Conroy poetry readings that I commissioned on Cameo before he passed. I know this is a high ask. But the sky was said to be the limit.
3. In terms of fics that probably exist which I wish I could find, I'd love recommendations for stories about autistic characters. I've gone looking in various AO3 tags and found a few, and they didn't get me much in the way of stories about people who've had decades of practical experience with things like dealing with unpleasant clothing, sensory over-stimulation, and parsing facial expressions as a second language. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed a lot of what I found. But they didn't get me what I was longing for, and going by tags and cross-referencing by bookmarks isn't always enough to find these kinds of things.
4. Very specifically, if there's any fanart of the two live-action Interview with the Vampire Lestats where they're both kissing and hovering in midair, and it's clear the movie Lestat is higher off the ground than the TV Lestat because Tom Cruise is a few inches shorter than Sam Reid, please let me know. If there isn't, please let me know if anyone's taking commissions, because I'd happily pay good money to see this.
5. I recently finished three fairly short Team Fortress 2 fics that are in need of a second pass and a stern beta-reader. If there's anyone out there willing to take a quick look to check for voices and pacing so I can mark "completed" on a fic series I've left at the wayside for several years now, I'd be thrilled.
6. Related to the previous item, I'm 14000 words into a new original project and my usual rubber duck plotters - the ones who nod and say things like "tell me more" in a calm and serious voice - are busy with various real life responsibilities and obligations. If anyone's interested in helping plot out and refine a contemporary urban fantasy novel about complicated sibling dynamics, I'm eager and ready.

Summary:
Ah. The Asshole Dog is loose again. Lan Zhan knows that it is not the dog’s fault for being an asshole, but The Asshole Dog is the reason Lan Zhan had a fence put in at a significant personal expense, because the alternative was allowing his garden to be destroyed and for Bunny to be menaced on her leashed outdoor adventures. Unacceptable. The Most Beautiful Man in the World cringes at the barking, scooting further away from the door through a sea of a dozen broken eggs and leaving a yolky trail in his wake.
“Fuck,” he whimpers, curling into a ball, both hands wrapped around the back of his neck as if to—as if to protect himself, Lan Zhan realizes. “Fuck, fuck, fuck, please—” The Most Beautiful Man in the World begs, voice ragged. He’s definitely hyperventilating now, from what Lan Zhan can tell between the audible sobs. There’s another bark from outside, and The Most Beautiful Man in the World flinches bodily, making a terrified sound that Lan Zhan feels behind his ribs.
Or: A meet ugly, a dog, and the beginning of something wonderful.

If you're also interested in original writing, see An Army of One: The Autistic Secession in Space. That's not my only example, but it's the biggest concentration of neurodiverse characters.
Also, if you want more autistic stuff, feel free to ask for it in any open prompt call.
