Rising through the air.

Today was, in a real sense, the last day of the estate management gig. I went back to the house to drop off the key and say goodbye to the clients, and when I got there, because movers were clearing out the furniture, nobody minded that I came inside to see how different it looked, and when the clients showed me how much better the basement was, I hung around just long enough to say I didn't have anywhere I needed to go that afternoon and wouldn't mind hanging around to help a bit. So in exchange for about an hour and a half of shelving books, breaking down boxes, hauling stuff up and down stairs, and locating useful objects, I got a formal goodbye on very good terms.

I also got paid in the form of all the tea left in the kitchen. I'd joked to one of the clients that I was reading Down and Out in Paris and London so getting paid in tea was in line with that. It wasn't a cup of tea, though; it was all the teabags they had around, plus some instant coffee and a few hot chocolate packets. It's a pretty decent haul, too: a lot of black, plenty of herbal, some green tossed in there. Enough for what I'd thought would be a couple months of work, and plenty to drink by myself wherever I'm drinking it.

Which brings me to my next item.

Challenge #2

In your own space, set yourself some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

My new, modest goal is to aim to drink at least two pots of tea a day until I've worked my way through what I now have in my apartment.
