Browsing the internet today, I came across a comic book illustrator bemoaning the loss of a specific app and, with it, a comic she'd created along with someone else that was only available on said app. She'd saved the files and shared them well enough to read but not in ideal fidelity, which she said was now the only way to read it.

I checked the name of said comic, poked the internet, and found that it'd been saved in much better, higher quality and was far more readable in an old Dreamwidth comic sharing community.

Another victory of piracy as preservation.
