Architectural developments.
Sometime in the last week, a door appeared in my building's basement. It doesn't have hinges or handles or doorknobs; it was simply placed into a segment of the wall. The wainscotting goes around it, and it's clearly a new addition. While it doesn't have any doorknobs or locks, it's got a few holes, including two in the middle of the door where a peephole would go, and two where a doorknob and a lock would go.
There was no indication of it whatsoever last week. I'd have remembered.
When I got down to the basement today and saw it, I had a moment of wondering what it was, and went up to peer into the pitch-dark lightless empty black hole in the middle of the door to see if I could see anything.
Then I realized what I was doing, and promptly turned around, walked away, and went back to deliberately minding my own business.
