Incidents.

Last night I was out late enough that I was tired enough I took a taxi back uptown. It was a wet, cloudy night after a wet, cloudy day and I was wearing a long black raincoat over a black dress on a fairly dark street, and I kept trying to hail taxis as I walked towards the nearest subway stop. I managed to get one by walking out partway into the street as one came along, and the driver said it was like I appeared out of nowhere to hail his cab.

I was out late seeing James Marsters' band in concert in a very small venue, maybe 75 people all told. It was small but it wasn't standing room only. Because there were a few stools at the bar. And because I grabbed a barstool and parked it right up at the stage area. At no point before, during, or after the show did anyone say I couldn't or I shouldn't, so I sat up front and enjoyed myself immensely. After the show, I went to the merch table and thanked them for a wonderful time and Marsters took my hand in his, holding it tight. I looked at him holding my hand and said, "I want to give you a hand kiss but I won't because we're still in a plague."

Today I left a bottle of hard cider out at room temperature to have on hand for a cake. It was a glass bottle with a cork stopper held in place by a wire hood, and I didn't know that once the hood was off, the cork would go flying. Straight up. The bottle was on a table and my face wasn't anywhere near it, so no major harm done. Not even to my ceiling. It's that there's now a cork somewhere in my apartment, and I don't know where it is.

The trouble I had with everything - the oven's lightbulb burned out after nearly 12 years, the cake needed extra time to bake through because I had to improvise on account of not having the precisely needed pan - was soothed by all the leftover cider in the bottle.

Aw he sounds like such a sweetheart. I've been listening to the new BtVS podcast/audiobook, and it's been really nice to hear his voice as Spike again.

Aww, I wish I'd known they were playing, I would have tried to see them while I was in town! Sounds like it was an excellent time.
