Yesterday I figured I'd send a follow-up email to the woman I'd worked for last weekend, see if she knew anyone who might need me to do for them what I did for her and find another little gig that way. She wrote a nice message to the mailing list that got us in touch in the first place as a general open offer.
As of this afternoon, I have two little gigs lined up for the near future.
One is short term until the end of November, the other is for an indefinite period, both would be by the hour, both are within fifteen blocks of my apartment, and neither is moving for at least two weeks while we all independently deal with the holidays and travel arrangements. It gives me a little time to figure out how to schedule everything. Also get used to the idea.
