Even Manhattan can get dark enough to see a few meteors. Not many, and of course it has to be clear enough and late enough and you have to be lucky, but I saw a couple tonight. Even a couple is a wonder and something close to a miracle.
It should be relatively easy where we live, but between it mostly happening in the middle of the night, and the tall trees surrounding our house and yard, we rarely see anything.
