Multimedia housekeeping.
In going through my DVDs and ripping the ones I don't necessarily want to keep around my apartment, I'm taking the time to go through my TV box sets to figure out which ones would make me happy to look at when I glance over those particular shelves.
In doing so, there's a handful that give me a small pang of sorrow. The first two House DVD sets, especially. I made a lot of great friends in that fandom and it's hard to say goodbye to those particular memories, especially after I said goodbye and farewell to some of those friends.
There's some sets I don't mind saying goodbye to. The Horatio Hornblower series, for example. I don't anticipating wanting to watch those episodes of TV again, so I don't think I'll be ripping them - it's the physical object that have the memories attached. Which is what makes that the hard part. It's been bittersweet to look over and think of people I'll never speak to again, and I'm not sure how to think about hanging onto that feeling.
