Ravenspotting.

Two of them on 79th street, a block away from the Museum of Natural History. The size of them and the shape of their tails was unmistakable - that raven silhouette clear from a fair distance. It was a surprise to see them, and a joy. I'd heard they were around here and it was wonderful to confirm it personally.

Four of them were seen together this afternoon flying over a rock in Central Park at about the 82nd st level. The birder reported "this was bizarre, 4 raven flying low over sparrow rock northbound all fighting/playing with each other. rounded tails, giving low grating “grawwh” calls it looked like they may have even landed in the west pinetum area". Most recent sightings of groups are in the north section of the park.

Though there also were 2 today in Brooklyn near Brooklyn Bridge, where it seems they're nesting.

WOW.
