Unreal estate.
The castle on the outskirts of my hometown is currently for sale. As I've been telling people, it has a lake and a tower. It's a castle. I used to bike past it - sometimes during the day, sometimes late at night when I was out exploring - and I've wondered about it for years. This is the first chance I've had to learn anything about the place, like the sheer scale of it.
According to hometown lore, it used to belong to Mike Bibby. According to the real estate listing, it's a single-family home. According to a friend, it's only a single-family home in the Edwardian sense, where you'd expect a multi-generational household in addition to the live-in staff.
Stuff like this is why I keep telling people they weren't exaggerating when they made up Sunnydale for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
