Beating the day.

Skipping over "what do I need to do" to ask "what needs to be done for me to do what I need to do" is a bit unwieldy, and genuinely effective. There's a cold snap going on right now, which means I'm loathe to take off extra layers or change into my usual workout leggins to do some exercise to burn off some extra energy. The solution: heavier joggers and a long-sleeved t-shirt.

The upside is it's working to get me to pick up weights and put them down. The downside is I feel like I'm in my pajamas and, as such, can't manage anything more productive than a workout.

Once upon a time I read a book called "The One Thing" which asks the essential question: "what is the one thing I can do right now such that everything else will either be easier or unnecessary." This sounds a lot like that.

FWIW, I use this question a lot when I get bogged down.
