Road rash.
I took a pretty nasty fall off a bike this morning, entirely of my own doing. I accept it, and the consequences and enough time has passed I can say, "I haven't gotten this injured since the last time I went roller skating."
In addition to the abrasions, the fall squished the tomatoes I'd hoped to cook tomorrow. I solved the problem by cooking half of them tonight, and sticking the rest in the freezer so they break down even more efficiently when I cook them into a sauce later this week. I figure any flavor lost can be compensated for with fresh herbs.
It's a sign of how things are going that I felt better after it happened - I've been in a fairly steady anxiety mode since Friday morning, and having a genuine injury was a relief because it was an immediate problem to deal with.
Also, it looks pretty gnarly, and unlike the roller skating bruise on my butt, this one I can easily show off.
