Marking it.

My dad tested positive for COVID today. He let us know as soon as he got his at-home results. He's been feeling sniffly and sore for a few days now, and this is confirmation it wasn't a cold. Everyone else in the family is negative, including me, and I've still got a PCR scheduled for tomorrow morning.

After he sent out the group text, I waited until I'd gotten back from a bike ride to take an at-home rapid test. An hour wouldn't make a difference, and either I'd have gotten some exercise in before having to readjust my life or I'd simply have gotten some exercise in.

I also got coffee and garlic knots, knowing I'd need them in celebration or consolation. Let me go on record saying garlic knots are a fantastic thing to eat in relief of a negative test result because they're one of those inarguable foods - you know you're here, in the world, while you eat them. They're very nice that way.

It sounds like he has a mild case so hopefully he'll fully recover soon. And yay for a negative result!
